Introduction
mod_gnutls uses the GnuTLS library to provide SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1 and 1.2 encryption for Apache HTTPD.
It is similar to mod_ssl in purpose, but does not use OpenSSL.
History
The first lines of source code were added to mod_gnutls by Paul Querna < chip at outoforder dot cc > in september 2004.
This is a relatively long time for an open source project to stay active, and can be a very good sign.
A long source control history like this one shows that the project has enough merit to hold contributors's interest for a long time.
Current Status
Latest Version 0.5.10 was released on 12th July 2011.
The module is still being actively developed and maintained by its contributor(s).
